I once wrote an article on childbith in Japan. Lowest infant mortality rate
in the world, one of lowest c-sec rates in the world. Moms stay in hospital
7 days after delivery and are taught to bf. High intiation of bf (can't
remember exact figure sorry). Extremely good prenatal care because MOms
attend appointments. Very few low birthweight babies. Good prenatal habits
were accredited by 'experts' to very low rate of pregnancy among teens and
single women.
