I have a question from a mum expecting her fourth child. This feeling of
exhaustion lasts for about a month and seems to be more than "just
feeling tired". She's quite concerned about what will happen when this
next baby is born. Her story:

<<I have successfully breastfed my 3 previous children, and am now
expecting our fourth child. The only problem that I encountered with
the other 3 was the feeling of exhaustion when my milk came in and
thereafter. Right after the birth of my children, I felt pretty good.
Then on the 3rd day (or whatever day milk came in) I became very
exhausted. I remember that with the second child especially, the
hospital gave me oxygen, cause I even felt too exhausted to breathe!! I
enjoy breastfeeding but it seems to take a lot out of me. I am 5 foot 2
and 110 pounds. I plan to breastfeed this baby too, however I am really
dreading the exhaustion, when I have other family to tend to and run
with. I had even tried super Vitamins immediately following the birth,
but it still happened. Is there anything I can do to be stronger, or
should I
maybe be one of those people who should not be breastfeeding because it
takes so much out of me?>>

There were a couple of incidents with her other children where she did
something she didn't consider out of the ordinary and was tired to the
point of sleeping for 12- 15 hours straight. I don't know how long she
nursed her other children. The mum is 34 years old now. Any ideas?
