Dear Renee,

I do not know about the studies, but you can find a lovely picture of dad

(scroll down to see it. It is clicable).
In this hospital they ask dad or another family member to be with baby when
mom is unaviable right after delivery (c-section). As I was told, both
personnel and families like this practice.
