The recent thread on performance of breast pumps has been interesting
indeed.
At the risk of duplicating info I am sending this, received this weekend
from Gail Ravnitzky, the aide to Rep. Carolyn Maloney who seems to have been
fronting all the US BF legislation as far as I know. I am also including
the URL for her website for more info, and the address to write to if you
want to receive updates on the status of US legislation relating to BF.
They come as needed and are well-prepared and informative.

isn't Internet WONDERFUL?

The Breast Pump Safety Act, (H.R. 3372)
What it does: Requires the FDA to develop minimum quality standards for
breast pumps to ensure that products on the market are safe and effective.
Why it is important: Many women are buying products that don't work, and
aren't regulated in any way. If this would change, it would help women in
the workplace because they would be able to express milk more efficiently,
and with less pain and frustration caused by breastpumps.
Status: Referred to the Commerce Committee.
