Yow, sounds something like Gussie's mom in A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, which
was very negative towards nursing the older baby/child.
Gussie's mother drew a "terrifying" face on her breast and then scared her
little son with it so he would never ask to nurse again.  He was described
as afterwards "shuddering" everytime he looked at his mother's chest.  Made
me want to cry.
