Hi Esther,

I thought babies are born with their immune system as it is, because the
infants immune system "expects" the help provided by mothers milk to it
fight infection. Actively fighting infections like an adults immune
system does, would cost the infant to much energy. Lars Hanson wrote
some interesting things on this subject (Immunobiology of human Milk).
Why try to change the infants immune system, when there already is a
perfect complement to its immune system in the form of breastfeeding? It
scares me that someone really would try to change the immune system like
is written in the article.
