Cabbage Leaves!!

Cabbage leaves are great for reducing edema of the breast (or of any body
part). If you are not familiar with using cabbage leaves for breast edema
I will explain.

Take a whole leaf of cabbage, tear out the hard stem in the bottom of it,
hold it in one hand and close the hand on the leaf, crushing it somewhat.
Then the leaf is applied to the breast. It will take several leaves for you
want to cover both breasts entirely. The bra, if she can wear one, will
hold the leaves on. They stay on between feedings or pumpings, are removed
and reapplied unless they are wilted. If wilted new leaves are applied.

Also ibuprophen is a complement to the cabbage leaves. I recommend 400mg
every 4 hours until milk begins to flow well.

I also use Rescue Remedy to initiate an MER in a reluctant breast.

Of the above, if I had only one, I would choose cabbage leaves. All three
together are a great team--most effective.
