Cindy- Here in NC there are guidelines that the centers have to follow or they will lose their licensing. The food storage guidelines ( including how to warm bottles etc) are mandated in these guidelines by law. A day care cannot do any other way. Call the Health Dept, Environmental Division and ask to speak to the Day Care inspector and they can give you the guidelines, as can the Licensing Board.
A good inservice on Supporting the BF Baby in Day Care can be found at the Texas WIC site.
I have presented this (Texas one)inservice at the community colleges early childhood education curriculum as well as continuing education in the State Child Care Accreditation Dept. so if you have any questions, please email me.
Barb Whitehead, IBCLC
