Very interesting, Valerie. Thanks for the links.

  I think it is monstrous that such untested risks should be taken
with infant health....and I agree we need to know who is monitoring
the addition of these substances to foods. I gather the FDA has not
approved the additin of DHAs and AHAs to formulas, am I right?  DHAs
are present in some brands of formula in Europe, and they are
marketed as being 'closer to breastmilk.' In fact, Milupa gets over
the ban of advertising direct to mothers by advertising its
ingredients, without mentioning the brand of formula...though of
course the name Miliupa is used.

Of course we should say loudly, hey, we don't know if these new
ingredients are *safe* yet...but of course formula itself is not
*safe* in the way we mean it. Result is it is very difficult for bf
supporters to campaign on this platform.
