In response to Susan's post on Sunday-

In some instances guilt may very well be a symptom of insecurity. But
most of us
do have some insecurities. Especially new moms.

As people who are trying to help moms make the choice to BF,
proffesionals (counselors and LCs) shouldn't have to hide how they do
things but it is not necessary for them to discuss (except in casual non
deliberate conversation), preach or brag THEIR life choices in order to
help them (as good listeners, we should not be talking about ourselves
when counseling/consulting anyway). This could be very intimidating,
especially to a new mom who isn't familiar with the many different
lifestyle choices one has to make once children are part of the family.

What is important is that they let "their moms" know that if they do
nothing else for their children (aside from keeping them safe and loved
of coarse) then BF is the best choice for everyone not just those who do
things the "natural" way. Because that is why moms come to them.
