Thrush! I have followed these posts with much interest since we live in
such a moist warm climate here in the southeast where thrush seems to
thrive. I battled thrush for months about 7 years ago. The nystatin slowed
it down but did not get rid of it completely. I applied the cream to my
nipples and used the drops in my daughter's mouth. There were no pacifiers
or bottles to contend with and yet I just could not seem to get it to clear
up. Finally I resorted to the Gentian violet and although it was messy, it
did cure the thrush. I would only put a drop on a q-tip and swab her mouth
with that once a day. I also used it on my nipples. I also learned that
rubbing alcohol will get out most stains from the Gentian violet.

What I have found most interesting over the years of helping other mothers
through this is that doctors seem reluctant to treat what they can not see
and many do not seem to realize the importance of treating mom/baby at the
same time.

I also wanted to add to the discussion on letters after a name. I have a
BME (Bachelor of Music Ed.)and an MME (Master of Music Ed.) The latter one
my husband has renamed for me - Master of Mammary Education!!
I am thoroughly enjoying the list!
