First, Happy Mother's Day to all (whether you are a mother, have (had) a
mother or made a mother :-)

I, too, have had a deep reaction to what happened in CO. It makes me want
to help new (and old) parents learn to parent better. It makes me want to
make people realize, in today's crazy US society, that parenting matters.
I've always believed that BF was a sneaky way into parenting issues. Forms
a good base of responding to baby's needs on a physical level and goes on
to bigger and better things. I see BF as empowering to many women, who
perceive that they have no power, no abilities, who have seen poor
parenting and need to learn healthier ways of doing things. I'm all for
empowering people, that will lead to less, not more CO situations.
Breastfeeding is also about learning give and take and cooperation, good
lessons for babies and children, and adults!

Enough philosophy on a beautiful Mother's Day, someone on Lactnet said,
every day is Mother's Day. That is true and we help make it that way for
all mothers. Sincerely, Pat in SNJ

P.S. I'm curious, do other countries have "Mother's Day" ?
