Questions that come to mind are: does mom have constant, chronic allergy symptoms, or is this something new or briefly occurring?

I remember being very "inflamed" after birth...i.e.. my sinuses were really sensitive... I seemed to be stuffed up all the time (maybe those inflammatory cytokines that Kathy K-T talks about re:ppd at work on the mucous membranes.. hmmm) and anything I was allergic to seemed to bother me more than usual.

Freeze dried stinging nettle can be very effective (as apparently can any dried nettle or tincture) and is very nutritious to boot!

Mom may consider removing dairy and wheat products from her diet while allergies are at their worst, as well as seeing a good homeopath. My personal experience is that *chronic* sinus infections can be related to yeast overgrowth. Son in law had excellent results removing soy and dairy as well as sugar. Other things to consider removing are scented products including diffusers, drier sheets, shampoos, deodorants, car deodorizers and, of course, limiting exposure to animal dander.

I have also had success using local honey for seasonal allergies and a pot of water on all my radiators in the winter. Best results I ever had were doing a total dietary overhaul while under the care of a skilled homeopath. Milk supply was not affected at all and the whole family was treated for yeast which resulted in happier and healthier parents and children.

The other thing that comes to mind is mold which can cause chronic allergy type symptoms..

If nothing works or has worked, mom may need a more in depth assessment by an ENT.
