Ick. A Target baby-oriented ad on television caught my attention as it
worked through prenatal needs (maternity clothes for mom) to new baby
(propped with a pacifier in mouth) to the growing baby (lots of baby stuff),
all of which could be satisfied at Target, of course. The clip that has
some cute line about feeding shows a baby encircled by too-many-to-count
cans of artificial baby milks. Brand names were quite obvious. Too bad
they couldn't come to my house and photograph my little guy at my
breast...maybe with the Target logo painted around the nipple <g>. Very
subtle and eye-catching marketing with many cute baby photos. Again, ick.
Worth a letter to Target if you've seen the ad, IMHO.

Here's the smile for all of you. We homeschool our children and I was
helping my older ones with some math today when my newly-turned 3-year old
son announced that he was going to do "his math". Based on his requests in
the past, this consists of using a discarded workbook from one of my older
kids. Nigel worked hard counting and adding some simple numbers, then
announced quite seriously that he really needed the "nipple tips". I was
nursing the 6-month old at the moment and was a bit surprised at the request
since Nigel weaned during my recent pregnancy...plus, I didn't realize that
even math revolved around breastfeeding. I asked him again, "What do you
need?" "Nipple tips," he replied. "I need a blue ten bar and the three
green units, Mommy." The light came on for me...he wanted the math
*manipulatives*! (And dh privately pointed out to me that, well, you can
figure out what analogy *he* made with "nipple tips" and
"manipulatives"<g>). Made up for the Target ad in my house today!
