It is my understanding that the changes that make breasts less firm and
all are a result of pregnancy, not lactation, so the business about
engorgement "stretching the tissue" and contributing to sagginess is
erroneous. Breast contain quite alot of fat tissue, so wt. loss and gain
will also impact on size, etc.

Finally, I was once in a workshop where we were talking about cultural
definitions of beauty and someone brought up that Venus de Milo was
surely a postpartum mom if one looks at the little bulge of her abdomen
and the shape of her breasts.  It was an interesting thought, and one
that I have passed on to postpartum moms who are struggling with an
altered body image, and trying to get back to "normal".  Regardless of
the real status of Venus, we need some images of postpartum beauty in its
own right that women can relate to.
