Hi everyone,

The long-between-poops stories are neat but ONLY after the baby is (1) over
4-6 weeks old, (2) growing well with documented weight gains, and (3)
otherwise normal.  I've seen too many starving under-to-weekers who aren't
stooling because they aren't getting enough to eat.  There's an explanation:
breastmilk is 95-98% digestable, leaving little residue to stimulate the anal
reflex.  Older babies build up a load before it finally triggers the reflex.
Sucking helps trigger the anal reflex (stimulating one end of the food tube
stimulates the whole thing).
