Nifedipine is one of those drugs in which patients are advised against
consuming grapefruit juice, due to the effect of the furanocoumarins on the
cytochrome P-450 pathway. Is grapefruit seed extract (GSE) safe? Does GSE
contain furanocoumarins or any other molecule which would interact with the
cytochrome P-450 pathway?
