Ok, this is a first for me. Anyone every heard of a Doctor telling a mother she can cause an increase in birth defects by taking Vit D while pregnant and also if she continues to breastfeed? Her interpretation was that he said: "When you are pregnant your estrogen levels are trying to go up and breastfeeding is making them go down". He was also upset a nutritional counselor had told her to take Vit D and he swears this also increases birth defect rates. I am so flabbergastedI don't even know what to say to him when I see him next.Taking deep breaths, putting on my thinking cap. Any tips, ladies? Just wondering if anyone else has ever encountered such "scare tactics" to get a mom to stop nursing while pregnant.
