I have been contacted by a mother who was asked to nurse in the bathroom
of a clothing retailer and was told if she wouldn't go in the bathroom
she could leave.  This is a very well informed mother of a 15 month old;
however she didn't know that there is a law protecting her right to
breastfeed in California. She got the person's name (who happened to be
the manager) and is planning to call her today. The mother got the
impression that this happens quite regularly at this store. The mother
would like me to help her stage a nurse-in and to get media attention
for the event. I personally have never done anything like this and am
looking for any pertinent advice or information. I have searched the
archives and couldn't find the information I was looking for. What is
the best way to get the media involved? The breastfeeding climate in
our county is poor at best and I believe this is happening much more
often than I would care to admit. Something needs to change. Thanks in
advance for any information you can provide.
