If this baby was still 8 oz below birthweight at two weeks, despite
apparently  frequent feeding, it would seem clear there is a long-standing
issue, poss with positioning (and supply - but poor supply as a result of
poor positioning)....but it's also important to know what the baby's
behaviour was like, and whether the mother was feeding according to some
sort of schedule or timing.

Now, at 5 weeks, with bottle feeds going back three weeks and now being
given at every feed, the issue will almost certainly be one of supply,
linked to poor positioning and the fact that the baby's appetite and
sucking needs are being met largely by ABM.

Is it possible to start reducing the ABM by offering smaller supps at each
feed? Then combine this with lots and lots of bf, ad lib, at night, too,
with skin to skin and no restriction on how often and how long the baby is
at the breast.  Should also help to look at latch again and observe some
more  feeds.

Before this baby has a chance to feed physiologically and with effective
positioning, I don't think anyone can say anything definite about links
with her previous infertility. It sounds as if bf never really got off the
ground.
