I think this was written about early development of electric breast pumps.  He went on to become a designer and owner of a pump co.
 
PS: Elmer Hospital failed the first hospital vss from Baby Friendly in 2011 because the drs didn't know how to teach hand expression.  They fixed that and went on to become the first Baby Friendly Hospital in NJ in 2012 :-)  I really think everyone in the hospital should know how to help moms, including the cleaning ladies!  They can support moms with positive complements.  Moms shouldn't have to wait for the LC to bop in for a few minutes to teach her everything!!  Pat in SNJ
