I'm going to get groans for this but here are two thoughts.....

1) don't go. well child checks at such intervals help perpetuate the myth
that normal developing humans need a doctor.

2) if you feel like you must go... find a new doctor! There are some great
peds out there. I searched high and low for mine. He knows I don't "do"
well child visits and is ok with that, he refers out to me for moms with
bfing troubles, and he is now a believer in homeopathy. Case in point...
about 3 months ago my sons had ALL the signs of strep, went in to get a
culture, the rapid was negative but he told me that he was *SURE* the
overnight one would be positive. He did however respect my wishes NOT to
get a script until we knew the outcome of the test. I went home, did lots
of praying, treated with breastmilk and homeopathics and low and behold he
called me the next morning amazed at the negative test results. Some docs
CAN be converted, we just have to be persistent.
