Nikki, Your interpretation is correct except...this is a relatively small
sample and we have to be careful not to extrapolate too much from it. It is
accurate to say that..."of the babies inthis study who breastfed while
their mothers took antidepressants, none had detactable blood levels unless
the mother had taken the drug during pregnancy as well." This will not
necessarily predict what "would" happen if I took the drug while I was
breastfeeding but...it will give me some good info. to help me make an
educated decision about risk/ benefit ratio,

Dear Friends:
        What I got out of the recent articles about psychotropic
medications
and breastfeeding was that levels in the milk and the infant have a
relation
to the mother taking the drug during pregnancy. If she took the drug in
pregnancy, then the infant would have detectible levels in its blood when
she
continued to take it during lactation. Please correct me if I got it wrong.
