Dear Lactnet,
    Both my girls weaned at around 26 months.  KJ was a thumbsucker from
birth and continued until sixth grade.  Erin unfortunately had a pacifier.  I
think these two factors had a lot to do with it.
    Incidentally, KJ's malabsorption and "diarrhea" worsened considerably
after weaning, leading to her diagnosis of cystic fibrosis at age 3.  At 14
she is incredibly healthy (swam in Saturday's All-Star swim meet) but has a
very small flat right thumb!
