Pearl,

I had the same experience with my othopedist. They refused to give me
anything if I was breastfeeding. My pain was so bad that I was almost
dropping my baby (my 3 year old had to carry her for me). Even when I
asked for a list of drugs they might use so I could check if they were okay
- I was still refused pain meds. I finally went to my FP (I guess he
figured if I dropped the baby he would have to treat her so it was easier
to give me meds). Ironically they used the fact that I never got pain meds
after surgery as the reason why I was "lying" about being in pain. I
wonder why some drs are so afraid of giving necessary meds to a
breastfeeding mom?
