Hi all. Kathy A and I , as you know, have been wrestling with increasing
numbers of error messages....from Lactnet.  Our subscribers number over 210
at this point.  Some errors are normal and acceptable, and after all, we
went into this with open eyes, and are willing to do a lot to keep Lactnet a
happy place, running smoothly....

We have decided, after consulting with listowners across the world, to
institute a policy that plainly states that if a subscriber generates errors
due to a full mailbox, then that subscriber will be automatically deleted.
They may resubscribe ANYTIME that they want....no hard feelings or anything
like that...it is just necessary for our sanity (make that our collective
sanity ! : )  )

In the past, we had been setting problem subscribers to NOMAIL.  Now, they
will be deleted in order to STOP the errors. Starting now, if a person is
deleted due to  a full mailbox or a site that generates errors on a steady
basis, they only have to respond with a one-line e-mail message to
[log in to unmask] saying :

JOIN  LACTNET firstname lastname

Not much  work for them, but makes a big difference in the number of
messages WE need to deal with.  It also  makes it necessary for people to
READ and understand the message regarding the workings of LACTNET that you
receive upon joining (and KEEP somewhere, right? : )  ).

SO, that is the change.  Hope you all understand the need for this.  Since
we are the co-mothers of Lactnet, we need to stay sane and happy...cause you
all KNOW..
