I wonder if they would have so happily handed out a case of cigarettes (surely
they would also have obtained these free from the mfgrs if they had wanted
them)??  If they didn't check to see if this was an appropriate gift for this
individual mother (leaving aside the fact that that the gift surely contravenes
the spirit and the letter of the WHO/UNICEF Code on the Marketing of Breastmilk
Substitutes, which is not legislation in the USA, but has been approved by the
Clinton Admininstration, and which lays obligations for compliance on INDIVIDUAL
health professionals) -- then there would be no reason to check if she smoked
before giving cigs.

Hard to know what else they might have got for free, in order to give a prize
which didn't involve any generosity, but no doubt an inventive mind could have
come up with a dozen equally inappropriate gifts.

Was this mother asked to appear in any photos, etc which advertised this
offensive ploy?  Maybe she could complain for misrepresentation.
