Rachael, your post was interesting.  As Lactnet is the list I am most
enamored of, I forget how many other lists function, without clear
administrative hands steering them away from the precipices of
cyberdiscussion.
I thought trolling might be like 'trawling' at first, and it sort of is,
dragging a net behind you in the water and seeing what you catch.  But the
treatment, of pointing it out, is like letting the sun shine on a folklore
troll.  When light hits them, they burst like soap bubbles.  I think the
same happens when they are correctly named (the Rumpelstiltskin effect).
I don't want trolls to thrive on Lactnet.  I want to make sure what we call
trolls really are trolls before giving them the troll treatment, too.
