Could someone explain to me how a baby could compensate for this by
being fed with a habermann? I admit I haven't seen where the palate is
missing but since ANY bottle requires a "suckling" effort, especially a
Habermann, I can't figure out how this could help. There are palatal
obturators that can be used, should be fitted by a specialist that could
be helpful. Suck training or using a shield would be less than helpful
if one of the components of a good suck is missing, by lack of anatomy.
I do agree that mom should be pumping and baby should be receiving
breast milk.
