Hi all,
I haven't had time to read all the posts on the current inflammatory thread,
but it seems ironic to me that it is happening at the same time we are
receiving accolades from many, many of you, about the tolerance and openness,
and ON TOPIC-ness of this list.

What is happening now, is what we aim to avoid by not presenting our personal
situations, as a general rule. Feelings run high about breastfeeding, and it
is easy to get provoked, especially about our own painful experiences, and it
rarely improves the level of the discussion.

If you see a post that is obviously outside the guidelines for the list,
please don't respond to the list about it. Vent to us, the listmothers, at

Chances are excellent we are on it already, and we would much rather absorb
your reactions than have them permanently entered into the Lactnet Archives!

Speaking of which, you may be interested to do a search of the Archives, from
last year, looking for the names of some of the current discussion
participants. We have Been Here and Done This before. So settle down, back
to topic, everyone, and make us worthy of the comment we got yesterday, about
how subscribers are treated with 'such respect, such sensitivity'. If the
person who sent us that one (you know who you are! :-)) would like to re-send
it to the whole list, I for one will not protest.

Off to work, I have 9 mothers and babies coming to see me today and I love it
that I have all of Lactnet at my fingertips for the many times I need your
help.
