I go to the hospital after the deliveries at the invitation of the mothers.
I have not gone through hospital channels. I am just one of the dozens
(!) of visitors that my clients have in their rooms each day. The staff on
the floor know me, and usually the mothers have said that I will be coming.
They seem relieved to see me because it is one fewer patient for them to be
responsible for.

I can't see that the hospital could prohibit a mother from requesting that
you (or anyone else) to do a visit to her bedside while she is there.
