Hello,

I was talking to a mom at my LLL meeting last night and have her
permission to post. She was asking this question for a family member
who lives out of state. Her baby is about 3 weeks old and she has had
pain with latch and clicking, and an LC told her the baby had a high
palate, and that she just had to "suck it up" and deal with the fact
that this is going to cause her pain forever!!

I know that can't be right, but I wasn't able to find any information in
my Breastfeeding Answer Book about high palates, so I thought I'd ask
here.

At least the LC could have said it a little nicer... but I know there
has to be something else this mom can do!

You can respond privately if you wish,
Thanks so much!
Liz Cammin, RN, LLLL
