Just a personal perspective on the milk donations for premies in Haiti. Had
I had other mothers' milk available for my premature son in 1994, I might
not have fought so hard to preserve and increase my milk supply to feed him
myself. I would have been able to afford formula. Will these Haitian
mothers when aid dries up?

P.S. He's now a sometimes frustrating but typically developing 15-year-old.
I was told at the time that 20% of babies born at that gestational age had
severe sequelae. I've always credited breastfeeding with preventing a
frightening outcome (he had two episodes of NEC, as well as several other
life-threatening and mom-panicking medical issues).
