I agree wholeheartedly with your statement.  The situation I was
confronted with about a year ago
was a neonatologist who called with a really weak, vlbw infant, whose
mom had "just received" the rubella vaccine.  He asked me if she should
breastfeed.  I reviewed all the papers in the field, and then asked my
four neonatologists(who are strong BFing advocates).  They all agreed
that they would not recommend this mom breastfeed.  How long should she
wait...we said until the infant was deemed stable.  It is culturable
from the oropharynx of infants for up to one month after transmission
via milk.

So there seems to always be a new twist on an old story.
