Karleen - Thank you for giving another perspective on this issue. This is
important to point out to many in our world, not just the missionaries.
Many interventions have their place and should be used when absolutely
necessary or unavoidable. Unfortunately, we do not live in a perfect world.
Look at all the healthcare practices that are used inappropriately by
well-meaning and intelligent healthcare professionals who are not
"appropriately trained."

We need to support each other, and remind each other, to not give up but
continue our work for the good of all humans.

Warm regards,

Lee

"I need formula" should not be accepted at face value but investigated by an
appropriately trained person and breastfeeding support provided. If mothers
genuinely have low milk supply then some formula supplementation may be
necessary but as a temporary measure until milk supply is sufficient. Infant
formula is provided as absolutely the last resort!!

The inappropriate distribution of infant formula can be incredibly harmful.
Not just on the current generation of babies but on the generations that
follow. It's so important to be so careful. It is much easier to prevent
problems than to try to clean up the mess that results from inappropriate
practices.
