Anne,
  If this baby is indeed in this condition you need to be in contact with
your area professional  liason URGENTLY.
   I cant help wondering how honest this mom is being. The doctor may not
know the baby's condition. Or the mother may already hve switched to
formula but not want you to know that , hence the " kiss off" mesage.
