Hi all,

Am working with someone who recently (almost 2 weeks ago) gave birth to her IVF baby. Her milk supply is "practically nothing" and has been supplementing since a few days after birth. He is obviously not satisfied while breastfeeding, only after a feeding of formula. Mom is pumping what she can and he does take the bm in a bottle when she has a decent amount to give him.

Due to the IVF, she took prometrium from about 4 weeks until 36 weeks of her pregnancy. Could her inadequate supply of bm be linked to a possible low level of progesterone? Input anyone?

Thanks,
Patricia Newton CCCE, CLE
