My first thought was for the recent study that found that back pain
*doesn't* tend to resolve with 6 weeks of rest, as was previously
believed;  it's just that after about 6 weeks, people give up on
getting any help from their doctors and just quit talking about it.
And how about all the moms who tell their doctors the baby "sleeps
through the night"... or who somehow neglect to mention that their 3
year old is still nursing?

I'll bet there's all kinds of mythology out there, just because we're
all trying so hard to fit the curve that's been laid out for us.  So
okay - how many of us had really debilitating afterpains far longer
than we were supposed to?  Maybe just mention it in your signature
line, since it's off-topic.
