It looks as though Dr Morton's article has been published. It is in the Journal of Perinatology. I have been waiting for this to come out as I hope to use it for staff education. Her video clips that are available on line are excellent. Thank you to whoever it was here that suggested them. I have been recommending them to staff and patients to view. I work in the Antepartum Home Care Program at BC Women's hospital and see women with high risk pregnancies at home. I really wish I had seen something like this many years ago it really brings home how important hand expression is. If a woman hand expresses (as well as pumps) for the first 3 days post partum, she will have a higher milk yield later, than a woman who only uses a pump. The graph that shows milk yeild in her article and video really brings that point home.

The DVD's that Dr Morton has produced are available through www.breastmilksolutions.com I am planning to order them for work and once I see them, I will let you know what I think.

And yes, I do own a breast pump and it has served me well, but I have also hand expressed and have used compressions to increase what I pumped. I also love my washing machine.
