Boy Fio, you do better than I do! lol. I just use the shoe section to get
her latched and then I finish my shopping. If it happens to be a day when I
left my brain and my sling in the car I just am thankful for the nursing
shirt I have on and I get the baby nursing. I know not all moms are going
to be comfortable with this type of openness, but I try to explain to women
that as long as we expect them to make us a special place to nurse they will
usually resist giving us special consideration. Now if I was walking around
nursing and they asked me to leave... well let's just say it wouldn't be a
pretty site. But in my own defense, I would have to say that most of the
time you can't even tell what I am doing because my nursing shirts do a good
job at disguising it. When I have clients ask me what my favorite gadget
is, I ask them if they can sew and if they can then I point them to the
nursing shirt section of the McCall's pattern book! And if they can't sew
well then I just point them to someplace where they can get shirts for
cheap. And I also try to give them a good lesson in self confidence.
Sometimes it works and sometimes they just ask for directions to the nursing
room.
