Cathy, my local theatre does not have this policy, but I wish they would,
because I've been in r-rated movies where people brought their toddlers and
even preschoolers, who were old enough to be frightened and show it. I
certainly see that a 4mo bf baby is not going to be a problem, but what
about a 4mo ff baby? Or one fed any way but teething and miserable? Some
parents do not have the good judgement to step out even with a screaming
baby. Like conferences and church, etc, I think sometimes a very small,
inconsiderate minority is able to ruin it for the rest. This has been on
my mind lately, as I've several times been in situations where parents are
being very inconsiderate. Sweet baby noises in church are fine, but letting
a 2yo continue with open-throated yelling right through the homily? Yikes.
Sometimes I take it too personally, because I had to go in and out of church
or conferences when my babies/toddlers were disruptive, and I just weaned my
youngest and all the bittersweet feelings are close to the surface.

prefer sweet babies and their mamas have a room next door for testing
