plenty of fight in us, and we need to remain optimistic and pro-active.
Does anyone have advice on who is best to be in contact with now about
this? Should we still be writing to Thompson? Senators? What about the
Ad Council itself? Do they have clout in determining the content of the
campaign. If they have X thousand letters in support of the campaign,
what can they do with it? What about the AAP selling out angle? Is that
a good one to pursue, since it's the second time in less than a year
something like this had happened. Is it worth it for non-docs to write
to AAP, or is our time better spent elsewhere? How do we best play up
the fact that this is an election year?"

We need mothers and father and grandparents, not just LC's and LLL's and other breastfeeding advocates. Every elected official needs to know that he has many, many constituents who care about this issue. And, yes, letting the AD Council know how much we support their hard work, their obvious ability to grasp the issues so well and their integrity is very important, IMO. Which breastfeeding organizations have PR firms? The AIM companis are gping to pull out all the stops here to be viewed as the good guys ( when I say this, it still shocks me that anyone can be so easily manipulated). BTW, has anyone considered the risks of so much public strategizing, or to turn it around, if the is the way we have to do it--how do we do it to the advantage of breastfeeding?
