Actually, there is a breastfeeding connection.  On page 59 the author describes his early days hunting with friends.  One boy gets some poisonous sap in his eye and, as they had been told that only “the milk from a mother” could help, the boys seek out the author’s mother who had recently given birth.  She squirts some milk in his eyes and “within minutes, he was able to open his eyes and see.”  The two boys who were watching found the process pretty funny.  It's a good book.
