I remember this study being discussed during a lecture, and an
interesting point came up: which shells were tested? I have seen several
shell models, and shells from England had larger back openings than the
ones that I would recommend. Medela makes two types of shells, one for
inversion and one for sore nipples, but many companies make only size for
all problems. Could this have tainted that study and perhaps unfairly
skewed it against the true applicability of properly-sized equipment? I
can see where the use of large-hole shells would be ineffective in
treating inverted nipple problems....
