Hi All, I'm Gail Hertz, the Peds Resident that wrote the little green
breastfeeding book - my disclaimer is that I own Pocket Publications.

I am looking for some advice or insight. By virtue of being on a surgical
rotation I came in contact with the mother of 10 day old approx 29 week
twin boys who were in the NICU as feeders and growers until twin B suddenly
got NEC [necrotizing enterocolitis - a bad infection that causes parts of
the intestine to die]. He developed this in the early hours of Fri
morning, had surgery Fri noon and passed away on Saturday.

Mom is pumping. She is actually the envy of the pumping room because she
can pump so much milk in a sitting. I can already imagine some of the
things she'll be told.... Any words of wisdom you can pass on for me to
help her with either milk supply of the situation in general? (and yes,
she had both babies to breast) Please email to [log in to unmask]
Thanks so much.
