I worked with a mother with Polands.  She had minimal breast changes on the
affected side, and some pronounced weakness of that arm and shoulder.  We
talked about logistics a lot.  She produced some, but not much milk from the
affected side.  Slings and pillows were a big help to her.  She nursed well
and baby thrived on one side.  Things got a lot easier for her when baby was
older and could "help" with latch-on.  I carefully taught her side-lying and
she used this a lot in the early days when baby needed so much postural
support to get a good latch.
