You wrote about a six week old baby who has gained about 2lbs  in six weeks.
 According to my calculations that is about 3/4oz per day which is perfectly
acceptable, at least according to my references, one of which is Riordan and
Auerbach's Pocket Guide To Breastfeeding (I might not have the name exactly
right as aI left the book at work.  Maybe you should so this ped. some
references on weight gain in BF babies.
