Hello All ~

I have permission to post. A 21-year old, first time mom called today stating that her 4 month refuses to nurse or even drink breastmilk from a bottle. In an effort to feed the baby, she's resorted to formula. Baby will drink the formula without any problem. Mom's pregnancy was uneventful but delivery was by C/S and baby weighed 9 pounds 1 ounce. Breastfeeding hasn't been a problem until about 1 1/2 weeks ago. Baby will flatly refuse the breast by pushing and screaming until he's offered a bottle of formula.

Any thoughts on what could have brought about such behavior? Mom's diet isn't any different. The only thing that has changed is that dad is deployed and mom is have a very hard time being a single parent and is in the midst of moving back with her parents until dad returns home. Could stress cause baby's behavior or a change in the way the milk taste?
