Hi All,
First I'd like to wish all the baby boomers a great and Happy Birthday! (my
mom also just turned 50 this year!)

Second, I'd like to wish all of you happy holidays, and have a safe holiday
if you are driving anywhere.

Thirdly, a question about Zoloft. Have a client who is depressed, and Dr has
put her on 50mg of Zolot per day. She was told to pump and dump or simply
wean as this med was not OK with BF. Hale says it is not reviewed, but does
say that no negative effects were found with one mom(and baby) who was taking
100 mg p/day.
My question, mom really wants to BF. Would it be OK to tell her that the med
will be OK to BF with, (something I am not really comfy doing, since it is
not yet AAP approved, unless they have done this recently) or should I give
her the info and let her make her own decision regarding possible risks (of
which there don't really seem to be) or do I reccommend pump and dump, or
lastly, reccommend changing to a med for depression that is AAP approved (and
with that, which ones are the safest? I always forget. sigh...too much info
rattling around in this brain right now to keep it all straight).
Any info on this (ASAP) will be very helpful. This mom has not BF since Fri
(4 days ago) and has been using a cheapo pump to pump and dump with. Her
milk supply is at serious risk, and I will be authorizing a pump for her
through WIC in the morning to get her supply back up where it should be just
in case she decides to go ahead and either BF or change meds.

TIA!
Love and Hugs!

Jay
