The way I see the difference is: a happy spitter, gaining and doing well
(needs a mop and towel) vs an unhappy spitter, obviously irritable, poor
feeding, poor weight gain, respiratory problems (probably needs help).
Looking back, my 33 yo spitter wasn't happy, I would describe him as
colicky, actually it was probably a foremilk/hindmilk problem. If I knew
then what I know now I would have aggressively worked at turning down my
production gauge. Then there is a formula-fed little guy I know who was
spitting up 20-30 times a day -literally, FTT and finally asthma. He did
much better on drugs. So just like everything else there is a range of
symptoms, range of reasons and a range of answers and one size does not fit
all :-) Sincerely, Pat in SNJ
